I’m not sure quite how sensible it is to break your brand new bicycle in with an all-day event, but the Tweed Run seemed altogether too perfect for myself and my new Electra to deny it.
Since 2009, The Tweed Run has grown from a guerilla event to one of the city’s most loved and quirky annual celebrations. A celebration of tweed, cycling, and all jauntiness in between. A celebration that calls for the vintage-style beauty of Electra’s Super Deluxe 3i Cruiser (can you tell I’m obsessed?).
After getting my suffragette on, I arrived at the Bourne and Hollingsworth Buildings to a time-travelled scene beyond imagination: penny farthings, vintage fashion, and red lipstick as far as the eye could see. I can only hope the photos give you a taste of the magic.
