When McVitie’s asked me if I wanted to write a little somethin’-somethin’ about their super popular breakfast biscuits, they stumbled upon their ideal customer all at once. Though I am a complete foodie and have a penchant for dining out, convenience takes priority over most things in my diet.
Convenience and – I should probably include – health. Though the term ‘biscuit’ is quite off-putting for someone who is health conscious, McVitie’s Breakfast Biscuits actually have the nutrition know-how to battle any bowl of cereal I have seen at a breakfast table. With 120 years of baking expertise, the biscuits have been made with wholegrain porridge oats (which have slow release energy to help sustain you through until lunchtime) and are fortified with vitamins D, B, Iron and fibre to provide a balanced breakfast chow down.
Each pack contains four biscuits and are currently available in three flavours; Red Berries, Oat & Honey, and Apple, Sultana & Cinnamon, which you can now taste through in store promotions for £1 in Tesco and Asda or half price in JS. With almost 4 billion breakfasts eaten out of the home every year, this might just be the most convenient and well-rounded option available for breakfast on the go.
