If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you are likely to have spotted me hash-tagging ‘#rediscoverhilton’ last weekend.
Invited by Hilton to spend a weekend in Dartford Bridge, the ‘me time’ naturally turned into a decent portion of ‘Twitter time’. Roughly one hour from Central London, Dartford may not have the hustle and bustle of the West End but it is surrounded by the massive shopping destinations of Bluewater and Lakeside as well as being well-connected by trains.
Checking in to the hotel, I quickly settled into my sizeable kingsize room, giantsize robe, and used the desk area to finish up a bit of work that I had started on the train journey from London. After enjoying the complimentary gym, pool, sauna, and steam facilities downstairs, I returned to my room to pamper myself with the provided Peter Thomas Roth toiletries (10 points, Hilton) and indulge in a little room service (steep price but great quality).
Room service, I believe, is a getaway necessity.
It may not have been a sight-seeing holiday, but the helpfulness of the staff and the amenities made Dartford’s Hilton a perfect place to switch off and reboot for a weekend.
