Though I tend to opt for my no-heat sock curls when I want to boost my naturally messy curls, I have – eventually – caved into the hype surrounding everyone’s favourite cult curling appliance, the Enrapture Totem Styler. What’s the fuss about? Let me put my infomercial voice on and tell you!
While most curling irons (and the straighteners many of us use to curl) have a single area that omits heat, the Totem Styler has three independent heat zones. Each zone is controlled by three dials underneath the flipper that allow you to create a custom curling ‘code’ of your choice. Personally, I opt for ‘2-3-3’ (170 degrees at the top, 210 degrees on the bottom two zones – this helps the curl to look a bit more undone) and run my fingers through my hair once the curl has set. This breaks up the sections of hair while still maintaining bouncy Kardashian-worthy curls.
In a rush, I can do my entire head in under 15 minutes (and I have a lot of long, temperamental hair). With a 25mm barrel, the titanium-plated Totem Styler can heat a large enough section of hair to deliver quick and super-smooth results. Where ceramic-sprayed tools tend to wear within months, the titanium means that the device is built to last and will continue to promote glossy post-heat hair. There is nothing I don’t love about the Enrapture Totem Styler.
