If The Little Mermaid (aka my homegirl Ariel) were a fashion designer with extreme talent, I have a feeling her pieces would look very similar to the Spring/Summer 2012 collection from Versace.
The Italian label chose to go on a seafaring adventure much unlike the iconic designs that are rumoured to have been compiled for the brand’s upcoming collaboration with H&M. Not that a fresh take on things is a negative. The plissé, seahorses, lucite, starfish, and studs sold a story of sexy, luminescent, underwater rock and roll. Also, the bountiful and supernaturally bouncy blow-outs – courtesy of Guido Palau – were the best of any show so far. It was trademark Donatella with a twist.
