Orla Kiely was my first presentation of London Fashion Week. It was true to form as a fabulous sixties collection, with cardboard cutouts of her designs inspired by French film ‘Les Demoiselles de Rochefort‘. Everything is easy and combinable, from chiffon tea dresses with round collars to draped knee-length dresses.
As part of the presentation, we were chauffered by Orla-kitted ladies with cigarette-girl trays to view an exclusive film in a mini movie theatre – popcorn, mini cakes, and drinks on hand. The whimsical film was actually produced by Gia Coppola, Sofia Coppola‘s niece, and starred actress Nathalie Love. With all styling done by the lovely Leith Clark (who was at the presentation), Love skips around London wearing Kiely’s shift dresses and fitted princess coats. Watch in delight here.
