Busy CFDA President and international glamazon Diane von Furstenberg‘s collection for New York Fashion Week has been at the top of my Show Stream List for months. After seeing a show in Paris about dancer Isadora Duncan, she decided her collection would be inspired by “goddesses”. From head to toe, we were seeing lots of vintage-looking round sunglasses, large carryall totes in bold geometric prints, chic fanny packs (no, really), and strappy heels. The wrap dresses were perfect, as you’d expect.
While the bright seperates will sell like hot cakes, my favourite piece was a lovely drop-waist cocktail dress with crystal embroidery. Diane happily bounced down the runway with her new creative director Yvan Mispelaere for her final bow, solidifying a great arrangement between the two. It was varied and vivacious, keeping true to her legacy.
