When pre-covering Chanel Cruise/Resort 2012, I had no idea it would be this captivating. Karl Lagerfeld‘s latest collection for the brand was interesting, thoughtful, and superior to his past two ‘Fashion Week’ collections. With diamonds, diamonds everywhere, Karl explained that he was inspired by Rita Hayworth and Aly Khan (who happened to once be residents of the Hotel du Cap – the most expensive hotel in the world and show location). At ground level, we saw hybrid boot-thong footwear – a bong? – that reminds the forgetful of the pique and beguilement that is Chanel.
