One of the last Hollywood greats, Elizabeth Taylor, died today aged 79 from heart failure. A beacon of glamour, the ex-actress held the record for the most appearances on the cover of Life magazine, was legendary for her eight marriages to seven husbands, and created fragrances that have been in top ten bestseller lists since their launch. After the death of her friend Rock Hudson, she used her success to open The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation and had since raised millions of dollars for the cause. She was an extraordinarily complex and fascinating woman, and will forever hold a place in our hearts.
